FRIENDS OF CWRT FARM
The Friends of Cwrt Farm are a group of local people dedicated to saving Carmarthenshire's last ancient manor house, Cwrt Farm in Pembrey. This is a magnificent Tudor mansion with a long and interesting history. The group have been so successful with their campaign that Cwrt Farm is going to be featured on the BBC TV programme Restoration, as one of three Welsh buildings worthy of restoration. Cwrt Farm has been an integral part of the cultural, political and social framework of Pembrey since early in the 14th century. Today, though apparently derelict, structural surveys show the remaining structure to be viable for sensitive restoration. See www.cwrtfarm.org for details MESSAGES OF SUPPORT To add a comment to the Cwrt Farm guestbook, please fill in the form at the bottom of the page. If you don't mind, we'd be interested to know where you are from. Name: David Owen Posted: Thursday, 29 April 2010 Location: Glossop,Debyshire. My wife and I recently travelled from Derbyshire and visited Aberdulais Falls, and Dinefwr Park on a short break. The Tudor Merchants House in Tenby was also on our agenda. A very enjoyable holiday indeed, we would have welcomed a visit to another Tudor property as I am sure many would. For any local people interested in Tudor houses I would seriously recommend Derbyshire's magnificent Haddon Hall. Unmissable. We found our break very enjoyable and would certainly recommend the friendly reception we received from all we met. Special treat was the huge and exceptionally nice fish we purchased from small chippy's either end of Burry Port main street. Exceptional. Good luck with your project. We will be watching your web site with interest. Name: Peter R. Owen Posted: Friday, 03 October 2008 Location: BURY I've found the site accessible now. Looks very good! Name: Peter Owen Posted: Wednesday, 16 July 2008 www.cwrtfarm.org I tried this website with no success. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Name: Mrs Lynette Holwill (nee Knowles) Posted: Monday, 11 February 2008 Location: Frimley, Surrey As a child I used to play around Cwrt Farm and I would love to see it renovated for historical reasons. A beautiful building. Name: Bal Posted: Friday, 11 January 2008 Location: Bham I've tried ringing the phone number but it won't connect. Could someone get in contact with me - I'm a radio producer for BBc radio 4 and am interested in finding out the latest about Cwrt House. Thanks. 1 2 Next >> |
