Man in Small Inflatable Rescued
On Tuesday, 12th June 2007, at 5:15pm the volunteer crew at the RNLI's station at Burry Port launched to a 2m inflatable boat in difficulty off the railway embankment at Pwll.

The inflatable had engine problems and the owner, Mr Ronald Lewis of Burry Port, was trying to row the boat ashore but due to the wind and the boat's flat bottom was unable to row in a straight line.

On arrival on scene the lifeboat took Mr Lewis and the inflatable on board and brought them back to Burry Port.

The lifeboat was crewed by:- Owain Davies, Dave Taylor and Julian Aston.

Another Person Rescued off Sandbank
The volunteer crewmembers at the RNLI's Lifeboat station at Burry Port were called out on Saturday evening at 6:55pm to go to the assistance of another person cut off at The Saltings area near to Pembrey Harbour.
On arrival at the scene the crew discovered that the 45 year old local woman had been walking her dogs on the cycling path when the dogs ran off into the sea and across the river. The woman decided to cross after the dogs to bring them back to dry land. Once across she was unable to make her way back to the cycle path as the tide was now coming in fast and strong. A walker on the path noticed that she was now in difficulty and called Swansea Coastguard. The lifeboat was launched and the crew rescued the woman and her two dogs and transferred them into the care of Burry Port Coastguard. The lifeboat was crewed by:- Owain Davies, Julian Aston and Justin Aston.

Town unviels vision for the future
Master plans for the regeneration of Burry Port have been unveiled.Colour illustrations and 3D models showing proposals for new shops, homes and leisure facilities have gone on show at the town's Memorial Hall.

The exhibition was the first of two being held by Carmarthenshire Council.

Anniversay for loving son
Christian Ford was a good son, brother, father and friend, his family has said on the anniversary of the Burry Port rugby player's death. Mr Ford, who collapsed during a match on May 23 last year and later died, was described by his mum, Helen, as out of the ordinary.

Plans for this year's Burry Port carnival are starting to take off, organisers have said.Efforts to bring top entertainment to the key event have already secured RAF services.
