Out of Fuel, but in luck to be rescued by the RNLI
At 3:45pm on Sunday 4th May,2008 the volunteer crew at the RNLI's station at Burry Port launched to assist a boat drifting near "The Earth Sculpture" one mile east of Burry Port Marina.
The boat, with two people from Merthyr Vale on board, had run out of fuel and was drifting and was in danger of going on to the rocks. The lifeboat took the boat back on to its trailer at the West Dock Burry Port.
As the crew was recovering the first boat the coastguard informed the lifeboat that there was a second boat drifting in the harbour. The boat had one person from Burry Port on board had lost its propeller and needed to be towed to the slip and taken on to a trailer and recovered to the boatyard.
The lifeboat was crewed by Owain Davies, Susanna Morgan, Justin Pugh and Neil Roberts.
